Legal and Regulatory Framework
The exploration, development and production of the geothermal energy resource is a function of the National Government according to the Mining Act 1992.
A Geothermal Resource Policy was issued by Department of Mineral Policy and Geohazards Management in 2015 and endorsed by the National Executive Council in 2020.
